Golden Manhole Award

The Golden Manhole Society is a professional society formed through the efforts of the WEF’s Collection System Committee. The WEF Collection System Committee has encouraged each of its Member Associations (MA’s) create a society within its association that recognizes significant contributions by individuals to the field of wastewater collection systems. Election to the CWEA Golden Manhole Society is made by members of the society. The individual receives a certificate and a Golden Manhole lapel pin.

The Golden Manhole Award is presented at the Annual meeting to members from each State Section in recognition of their involvement in the operation management or design or operator education associated with Sanitary Sewer Systems.

Policy and Procedures

  1. The society shall designate a society member to solicit candidates for consideration during the Annual Meeting and to maintain society records.
  2. The present members of the “Golden Manhole” Society shall meet during the Annual Meeting to elect members from each State Section, and nationally, whom they feel merit the recognition of this award.
  3. Membership emblems for the Golden Manhole Society shall be provided.

Rising Star Award

Description:
The CWEA Rising Star Award was established by the CWEA President in 2019 to acknowledge a Young Professional who exhibits extraordinary personal service to the Association.  The annual honoree will be presented with the CWEA Rising Star Award at the CWEA Annual Awards Banquet.
 
Award Criteria:
Recipients should be active members, specifically Young Professionals who have distinguished themselves through their efforts, contributions, and promotion of the Association and its programs.  The Young Professional nominated for this award should show promise as a future leader of the Association.
 
Eligibility:
The individual recipient should be a member of CWEA and a Young Professional.
 
Nomination Process:
Nominees (including contact information and pertinent accomplishments) should be forwarded to the CWEA Awards Committee for evaluation.


    CWEA Asset Management Service Award

    The CWEA Asset Management Service Award was established by the CWEA Asset Management Committee to acknowledge extraordinary personal service to the Association while working to promote asset management principles across the Water/Sewer/Wastewater Treatment industry. The award will be presented to an individual for contributions to the advancement of the state of the art of asset management within the Water/Sewer/Wastewater Treatment industry. The annual honoree will be presented with a plaque designating the recipient as the Asset Management Committee Service Award winner, and presented at the CWEA Annual Business Luncheon.
     
    Award Criteria
    Recipient should be a current member in good standing who has distinguished themselves through their efforts, contributions, and promotion of the Association and its programs, relative to asset management.
     
    Eligibility

    The individual recipient must be a current member in good standing of CWEA.
     
    Nomination Process
    Nominations (including contact information and pertinent accomplishments) should be forwarded to the CWEA Asset Management Committee for evaluation. The Asset Management Committee Chair and Vice-Chair are responsible for making the final selection of award recipient.


     Golden Raindrop Award

    The CWEA Golden Raindrop Award was established to recognize significant contributions to the success of CWEA and to promoting professionalism and pride among those working in the design, management, construction operations, and maintenance of stormwater systems.


     President’s Award

    Identifies and recognizes a committee leader for outstanding performance during the year.
